Just because I feel the need to provide visual aids for the children.

She must be reliving Days' glory years in her mind too and dressing appropriately. Seriously though, did you listen to the interview with Jaime Lynn Bauer posted in a thread below? She said Days doesn't even have a wardrobe department anymore. They bring seamstresses in to tailor the clothes to fit. Goodness knows where they get the clothes.
Salvation Army/Goodwill? This explains a lot (Sonny's shirt,Kristin's beach dress,Sami's sweetheart of Sigma Chi circa 1940,Nicole's tube dress,Maggie, and Caroline).

I'm liking the Hope/Stefano/Kristen scene.

Ugh, Chad's hair is ridiculous. It's really hard for me to even TRY to take this character seriously when he's constantly looking like the king of all douchebags.
There is a pysch connection. When Chad walked through the doorway and I got a good look at the hair and his wardrobe, the word "douchebag" popped into my head not
"up and coming young businessman/heir to the DiMera fortune" . I am at a loss as to what they are trying to project about the character based on his grooming choices. I
think Days pretty much allows the actors to make their own hair and wardrobe choices because it's difficult to believe a professional would make the type of unfortunate clothing and hair style choices we have been seeing lately. The show needs to call a halt to this trend.

Gabi as usual was thinking of herself. She was more upset that Nick didn't love her, than what Nick has been going through.

Gabi, that's why never men loved you. Start thinking about other people. Oh, but you can't, because you only care about yourself. You're a selfish bitch.
Well,to be fair,Gabi had a full plate in a day that has not yet ended. She started the day with her brother, who had been beaten almost to death in a medically induced coma.
She was kidnapped a gun point, taken to an island, and held hostage by a man who threatened to kill her.She went into labor during her first pregnancy during her attempt to escape from her captor while still worried about her husband and baby daddy. Her first child was delivered in unsanitary conditions with the assistance of someone with no medical training.Sbe and her newborn were taken to the hospital by helicopter at which time she finds out her baby daddy has been shot. She wakes up and her newborn is missing. Her husband, who is upset and crying, comes to see her and tells her he was raped by the psycopath who earlier threatend to kill them and appears to be telling her he does not really love her.I saw her as being horrified at Nick being at the mercy of someone like Jensen, confused, and understandably upset rather than selfishly thinking only of herself.

FIRST VARGAS-LESS WEEK SINCE HIS DEBUT:

Per the credits today, this is the first Vargas-less week since Sean Douglas' first appearance in February. And with these credits running through Monday, June 3, his next appearance won't be until at least June 4.
There is a God.Maybe they will fix him while he is off screen.I could live with the character if he was law enforcement or journalist undercover in prison to get some bad guy or expose some form of corruption. He could have gone in shortlly after Nick entered the prison system.

So....are we calling the baby Arianna Grace? Like all the time?
I'm sure they'll just call her Arianna. I wonder if they'd shorten it to Ari.
I thought I heard Gabi refer to her as Ari when she was in the room with Sami.Kate, and Marlena.Arianna Grace is too much for such a cute little baby.

I know what you mean.Ciara was definitely giving off a Jensen vibe when she said that line.

Come on Gabi! Have some self respect and kick Nick to the curb! At the very LEAST, make him atone for what he did and WORK to EARN his way back into your good graces. The man clearly has a shit ton of issues he needs to work out and he's been using you and the baby to hide from them.
If Sami and EJ can get engaged and become the new "super couple" of Salem,Gabi has nothing to be concerned about in the self respect department.Nick has not done any of the sh-t that Sami and EJ have done to each other.Nick has been the best spouse in the world compared to those two.Gabi should try to help a husband who loves her who has problems. What kind of wife is she if she kicks her husband to the curb because he has serious psycological problems because of years of physical and emotional abuse in prison.

I really hope they choose not to have Nick's homophobe behavior excused away because of being raped in prison. Pretty much all people who are homophobe's do not have an excuse for it. They are just haters. Similar to people who hate just because of another persons skin color, religion, etc. I think it almost says he has an excuse for hating and does not address the bigger issue that most people hate because of ignorance and they were taught to hate. That story would be much more interesting to me because it is what faces our entire country. To say he was raped so therefore he hates somehow minimizes the bigger issue for me.
How can you not feel sorry for Nick, just a little bit. Why didn't he tell Vargas to fuck off in the hospital today? Seriously, Nick's self-loathing was heartbreaking today. They better get him some major therapy or write him out of the show. Enough with the prison bitch stuff. Vargas is disgusting, and frankly I tire of seeing Nic-whore in a rectory with Vargas and clueless father Eric. If they want us to think father eric is sexy then they better do something about his hair. He looks like a douche.
Nick-I absolutely agree.Except the part about writing him off the show.
Vargas-I absolutely agree.
Nicole/Eric-I absolutely disagree.

Sami wants to know why no one was informed of Jensen's release
here comes Sami blaming everyone for Will getting shot.
If she really wants to know, the answer is: Hope was notified, but because you left Ciara alone in Hope's office, she decided to hide the letter so that her mommy wouldn't get stuck at work doing more & so they could go see the panda. Therefore, you yourself, Sami, are partly to blame.
I hope Hope slaps Sami if she try to accuse her.
I too hope that Hope slaps Sami and borrows a leaf from Kate and calls Sami the rotten bitch that she is.If Sami could not watch Ciara, she should have said so to Hope before Hope left the room, not agree or remain silent then leave a child alone in a police station. If the police station was so safe,Ciara being alone was not a problem,Hope would not have asked Sami to watch her.

Hope was made of so much win today! Shooting Jensen, kneeling beside Will and talking to him. Stepped between Sami & Nick. Told the story about how Will saved Nick, and Sonny delivered Arianna Grace. And last but not least, to see her beautiful smile- even though she talked to Fauxman on the phone filling him in. KA

I was thrilled to see Vargas turn up at the hospital and walk over to Hope. Loved his smile towards the end of their last scene...
Sean Douglas' smile kills me! it really does!
For a girl who like facial hair (neatly taken care of) I just need this guy to clean up! Maybe facial hair just isn't his look for me, or maybe it's the same stupid shirt....but he just needs to do something. Change something! At least his shirt!
I agree.Vargas always looks grimy to me.After seeing his smarmy convict interaction with Hope then threatening demeanor toward Nick my revulsion toward this character continues.I could never accept Hope bringing this guy into her life as a romantic partner especially with a young child in her home.As a parent, she should put the welfare of her child ahead of what she might personally want in a relationship when it comes to bringing a guy ino her life who has been in prison for ten years.Based on what I have seen of Vargas thus far,I would never want him as a romantic partner with any character male/female on the show that I actually like.

I am wondering about the planned take over of the DeMeria Business, when it does come to a head, don't you think the evidence that Stefano took from the evidence room. Stefano will use it against E.J., Sami, Rafe, the Hortons, and the Black family, and the Police Dept. to keep E.J. from going thru with his plans. You know Stefano is ruthless and cunning. He never does a favor for anyone on less there is a weapon he can turn and use it against them later.. What do you think?

IDK, when I refer to "Scheming Lucas" I remember the teen years where he and Sami would run around trying to break up Austin and Carrie...there was no Kate involvement then and that is what I refer to as scheming Lucas.....since you started watching in what amounted to 98 then you didn't watch the time I'm talking about....what you started watching pretty much is the time that Lucas would do anything and everything to make sure he was part of that child's life. Regardless of what Sami falsely accused him of, regardless of what she wanted, he did not give up and if he had to go to his mother to do it then so be it, at least you can't say he sat there not caring for his child....it's sort of the same thing that Will is doing now...but in a roundabout way, Lucas made way more attempts to be part of his child's life than Will has done.....Kate was in the middle of it and Lucas did what he needed to do, whether it was side with Kate or not...in the end he felt that his best chances were to follow Kate's lead. Did I agree with it....IDK, I guess I liked it to the degree that it made sense to me because she felt that Sami was such a bad influence on her grandson that she went to any lengths to get her out of Will's life and make sure Lucas was part of Will's life.

IDK I just think that Lumi's relationship was the only relationship that Sami's character showed true growth and it still managed to keep Sami pretty much in character throughout it's run.....you can't expect the relationship to continue on the mistrust path if they are trying to sell them as in love.....at one point or another they will have to grow and understand one another....Lumi got that IMHO and that is why toward the end it would seem that Lucas was always getting pissed, because he didn't understand how she could still behave like a 15 year old child when they had been through so much and where at a great place. According to EJ he's loved Sami forever, and he's never not loved anyone else more than Sami (his words)...so WTF did he do what he did to her? Lucas fell for Sami and he stopped purposely targeting her and although she kept doing very Sami like things he was never a target after that.....if he managed to get hurt it wasn't her intention for that to happen. I can't say the same thing Ejami.

All in all the fight felt rather forced and OTT to me...and the scene where he kissed her played weird...it just seems like these two haven't grown at all....and in the end he can't trust her to tell her what the phone call is about.....because he knows that Sami will likely screw it whatever he's planning if he found out.
Love your last paragraph and totally agree with it. I thought the whole fight scene was OTT...felt like I was seeing deadbaby/grief sex again...something I had hoped I would never see again.
You are absolutely correct. When Sami grabbed/began hitting EJ and he grabbed her and threw her against the wall, the first thought that popped into my head was
"griefsex".Their scenes yesterday to be identical to the griefsex scenes without the grief and the couch. It's like they were trying to reshoot the scene that got them the most publicity but without the negative feedback.I think that's why I saw high school OTT stage play when I saw the scenes rather than romance or "hot sex" and felt cringy.

Stefano's facial expressions while he was eavesdropping on Kate were hilarious. Rate were interesting for about 5 minutes, but now it's just ridiculous. I want Stefano to win back his woman!

Jensen's creepiness made me uncomfortable. Kudos to the actor.

Sami looked ready to eat EJ alive at the start of their angry sex. I feared for his life.
I like Kate with Rafe. It's about time the older woman gets the younger guy.Stefano invited Kate to dinner leading her to believe he forgave her for her adultery with Ian then spit in the food, told her he threw her clothes out of the mansion, and walked away from her without looking back.He didn't just break up with her,he humiliated her.
He brought Cecily back with him from Europe or whereever.EJ was just taunting Kate about having been kicked to the curb by Stefano. Why should Kate take Stefano back? She has a great job and a younger lover who respects her.
I'm all for a cougar storyline, but not if a character gets watered down in the process, and unfortunately, all the strong female characters is watered down in Rafe's orbit. Rafe can not match strong women because he is written as a Neanderthal for the most part.
I guess I just don't view Rafe as a neanderthal.I just view him as loyal to people he loves and cares about with a "knight in shining armor" complex. He always feels the need to help anyone in trouble even though the means he uses to help may be questionable. He treats Kate better than Stefano did.I would rather Kate be alone or they bring in a new character for her than to have her back with Stefano after the way he treated her.

Unless Nick re-instates Will's parental rights AND give him joint custody, he's still dead to me. And quite frankly, Gabi still needs to kick Nick's ass to the curb, at least for a while. Nick should suffer for his misdeeds and have to EARN his way back into Gabi's life - if Gabi has any self respect.
I'm fairly certain Gabi has little to no self respect.
Sadly, you're probably right.
Other than be mean to the baby daddy because of psychological damage.Nick has done absolutely nothing to intentionally hurt Gabi,he loves her.His love may be misguided but he has done nothing to Gabi to warrant her" kicking him to the curb".As his wife she should stand by him and support him in getting help for his problems not kick him to the curb.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
All those things (except possibly 3 - we won't know what that's about until he actually does something with the usb drive.) are positive things. 1. Helping a victim being blackmailed out of his child's life because he's gay by covering up a crime committed against himself. 2. Bankrupting the most dangerous person in Salem so he can't buy his way out of jail anymore. And whatever he's doing to Stefano must be legal, because I can't see Justin putting his career or freedom on the line for EJ.

These are the kinds of things Bo Brady would have done. #2 is something John and Lucas actually were doing at one point.
It's a cliche' I know but I don't believe two wrongs make a right. It's difficult to believe downloading the intellectual property of a rival company without permission of anyone associated with that company is lawful or that EJ did so for the greater good of anyone except himself. This behavior is in my eyes wrong whether he actually uses it or not.2) I don't believe EJ is taking over Stefano's company for any altruistic purpose at all especially that of keeping Stefano from commiting any further crimes. There is a difference between legal and ethical.I don't see that using technically legal steps to take something that you have not earned and that does not belong to you is doing the right thing.Assisting Sami and Will in their request to have Stefano commit additional crimes by using a police officer Stefano has bribed /threatened in in order to get said officer to steal from evidence of a crime from the police is wrong regardless of whether EJ thinks crime is okay along as there is a good motive for engaging in crime.
For these reasons,in my eyes EJ is currently doing bad things even though at this point it is not known whether had someone beat up Rafe.I am not saying other characters would not have done the same.I saw Lucas and Sami unsucessfully try to steal the evidence and I have seen Bo,Rafe.Roman and others engage in questionable
and/or illegal behavior. I don't dislike the character of EJ,I just disagree that he is not currently doing anything wrong.
That's fine. We're obviously not going to agree on this. Although I do agree that two wrongs often don't make a right, in a situation where one of he wrongs hurts someone and the other "wrong" victimizes no one and instead actually helps someone, is an exception to the rule. And legal corporate maneuvering is just business. Which is why, although I'm no fan of Lucas or John these days, when they cooked up their plot to take Dimera Enterprises from EJ, I was fine with it. And my point about other characters having done the same was not something built on the idea that you dislike EJ. The point was that to me, the things EJ has done recently are heroic-rogue sorts of things that you'd expect from an imperfect good guy like Bo. Things that would drive Abe and nuRoman crazy, but are not actually bad in context, like EJ having Nick killed or framing Stefano would be. But it's cool if you see it differently.

And I don't think EJ is targeting Stefano for altruistic reasons, either, but Justin brought up that a side effect of this plan would mean that Stefan might end up in prison. And although I like Stefano, that's where he belongs so legally putting him there is a positive thing in my view.
Okay.Agree to disagree.Peace.

:hijacked: Slightly OT, but in reading message boards about Days - this one as well as others...coupled with Tweets, FB posts, etc, you have to wonder how high ratings COULD go if the writers would incorporate John & Marlena into more stories - she was pivotal in Will's coming out storyline, and John never did go after Elvis & Fatha for taking all the pension money from Basic Black. Or if they'd explain that Bo is working with Shane in London and have Hope talk to him on the phone or even go over to visit him. Lucas & Sami should be helping Will & Sonny with the baby storyline - Elvis need not be involved at all unless Sami needs a shoulder to cry on. Roman - kill him off. Abe? Mayor. Hope? Chief of Police. Rafe? Head detective (no, not like the one on In Living Color...but that'd be cool too). Kayla? Cheif of Staff. Cameron? Gone - or at least somehow made interesting. Abby? Helping Gabi with whatever. Chad? Helping Will & Sonny. Nick? Being a well-acted prick.

Sorry to rant & rave, but if NBC would stop throwing money at prime-time garbage (Animal Practice, 1600 Penn, etc) and invest in Days, they'd have a better vehicle to promote their prime-time shows.

Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

OK, back to the real thread...
I hate to remain off topic but I totally agree. They must have a moron choosing their programming.I can look at a promo for a new show and tell it's a loser like that Eva Longoria mess that was canceled after two or three shows.Days has been on for almost fifty years. You are absolutely correct,if NBC actually invested money in the show they could make that money back from ads.I love the show and want it to stay on for may years to come.I hope they check out your post for new ideas.I love everyone of them.
