So I guess Eileen is done being tired
Why? Is she already back at YR?
Yes, for three episodes.

Days should have done something similar to what GH did with the Lulu recast...
I still can't get into New Lulu!
For God's sakes, just no GHish flashbacks with the new Will, please. This was all kinds of embarrassing  .

A little bit OOT. But maybe somebody has some information or rumours or tweets etc who the new contract "name-only-actor" 44-54yo might be. He was supposed to begin shooting about mid August, if I recall correctly?

Does anyone have a link to that SOD interview Eileen did?
Have you read it? If not I can type it up and pm you.
Yeah, I read it. It's very, very, very, very depressing. I will seriously be pissed off if :-/ she goes back to the-soap-that-shall-not-be-named. :-/ She just needs to come back, period.
I didn't find it quite so depressing. While I don't think Eileen will ever return to Days (not because she doesn't want to, but because Y&R is eventually going to snatch her up and she won't be available) I do think she genuinely enjoyed being back. Eileen said herself that she developed a new appreciation for the character and she loved playing her despite the heavy workload. When SOD asked her about justifying Kristen's actions, she was like, "I do it because I understand her. And I love her. See? You're making me miss her already!" (Paraphrased.) She also went on and on about how much she loves the cast and loved the writing and really had nothing but good things to say about the whole show. She said what she found with Eric Martsolf was "like catching lightning in a bottle" and that's why she told him before anyone about leaving the show. She also said GM asked if she would come back for a short arc and she immediately said yes but then he asked if she could commit to September and she was like "sorry, I can't right now." So I do think she's willing to come back, just not yet. And we all know Y&R will snatch her up when the time comes.

Really, if it weren't for the fact that Eileen wants more family time and preferably a bigger paycheck, I don't think she would've left. She loves her character and the cast and crew, but Kristen isn't a backburner character (in the interview I believe Eileen actually said "Kristen would never work on the backburner. She isn't that type of character, unlike Ashley") and Eileen knows that as long as she's at Days she's going to be doing triple work for half the pay, which I'm sure would be fine for a short-term stint, but long-term it just makes more sense for her to be at Y&R. Half the work for twice the pay. Who wouldn't want that gig?
She also said GM asked if she would come back for a short arc and she immediately said yes

Wasn't it that she first said "no way" and then thought it over in a couple of days and said she was open to that?

As for Y&R, it seems that the only good thing what you could get there as an actor/ actress now is a well paid job (OK, maybe it's enough or even a lot?). It's been rumoured a lot and for quite a while but now it's pretty clear and open to everyone inside and outside that there is a huge behind the scenes drama going (I mean Josh Griffith out as HW because of "creative differences"). You can't expect the work environment to be positive and creative now. And I think you can't expect stellar writing or appropriate use of characters during the regime change.
And I frankly don't see any other reasons why JFP as she is (if she stays) would want ED (or Ashley as a character) back except to use her to get some positive PR which is indeed needed for the show. Is it OK, idk? It was always JG who said he wanted ED as Ashley back.
And also there are some other shows, like B&B...

When I first signed, I said that I needed to work a lot because I took a pay cut when I went there. So it was kind of this weird Catch-22, because I needed to work a lot and then they worked me even more than I said I needed to work.

itís just kind of this weird situation. After coming back, I didnít really know what to expect once I got there and who the character would really be. I kind of found her by myself because nobody really knew because it had been so long. - Eileen Davidson SOD 08/26/13

A few lines from her 5 page interview that really stuck out to me. For awhile I've been wondering about the pay for the Dool actors and how much more they needed to work to break even, so to speak. And that part about no one knowing who Kristen is can be seen rather plainly in the writing for the character. They really missed the boat by not having Kristen deal with her mental and emotional breakdown onscreen and seguing that into a revenge scheme.
it was an interesting read. Probably paraphrasing badly here but the part where she talked about not wanting to do something to pay for the big house, but wanting to do something fulfilling, while understandable, didn't leave me with much hope about her returning to Days. I mean, if it was fulfilling, why leave?
Judging by the article it seems that although ED loves the cast and crew and the character she's just too overworked and that's taking away from her personal life too much.

And that Home comment was really confusing, lol. Is she saying she's moving away or just selling her home for a smaller one? What did have to do with Y&R or Days?
And from her hobbies as well...
From the interview (06/04/13):
WE LOVE SOAPS: You've done a lot outside of daytime and acting including writing novels. Might we see another novel in the future?

EILEEN DAVIDSON: I was talking about that with a girlfriend yesterday. I'm thinking about it. I kind of need to be inspired by something to be able to push it out while working a lot. If I feel that in the next couple of months I probably will start writing something again.

And this is about workload:
The scenes coming up over the next few days were at the tail end of what just aired, and by then my brain was just fried. I had so much material, dialogue and emotional stuff, and I went up to do one scene and my brain just couldn't hold on to the thought. Your brain can only do so much. I had been working at a pretty strong pace for months and my brain just didn't want any more. Sometimes that happens and you can't remember anything.

Re: house. I was thinking she meant if she doesn't work for a while maybe they have to sell the house for a smaller one?

Did anyone read the SOD interview with Eileen? Pretty convincing to me that she won't be back except for possibly (and even that's highly uncertain) a short arc.
I got mixed feelings about it. I think it was very honest and wise on her part not to say "yes" and not to say "no" to the possibility of return. I've learned not to take words like "never" or "I definitely will" for granted. Life is too unpredictable for making these kind of statements. So it can go either way, you never know.

On the other hand when you get tired, exhausted or fed up with what you are doing and can't enjoy your life anymore it's a breaking point. BTW I don't think less Kristen makes the character useless and there is a lot "of space" between Kristen 4/5 episodes a week as it is now and her beeing in a back-burner state, so why not choose something in between?
It might feel that the solution is pretty simple, for example, break, the same pay, less episodes (as the hectic schedule seems to be the bigest problem), but sometimes it just isn't the case. So idk.

There were so many nice words said about her co-stars and writers. Very very kind.

not that it makes a difference to what she does, but SOD has a poll up asking what she should do next and right now 92% of respondents think she should go back to Days.

Already more than 16 000 votes (total) cast and near 15 000 for Days. Quite impressive!

I m trying not to get my hopes up but Eileen has been tweeting with the Days cast a lot. Hoping that means she really does want to go back to Days and not YR. Of course she is airing on Days and for several months so could just be b/c of that I suppose.

As much as I want to hope that ED will choose Days over Y&R, most of her interviews from June are hinting that she is more than open to return to Y&R. And I noticed yesterday that on Y&R they are starting to mention Ashley more often than usual.
However, I'm not losing my hopes yet and it's very nice that she still tweets a lot about Days.

Other tidbits:
There is a new mystery coming in December.
We will see a build-up of Rafe and Jordan (who looks a lot like GH's Sabrina based on the pic I saw)
More Daniel and Eric together (I kid you not. That was a spoiler.)
More Sami, Hope, and Jennifer
Nick has a big story
Camilla Banus will be seen through April
A darker turn in Brady's character (why couldn't this have happened while Kristen was still around)?
I guess Brady's darker turn is turn to drugs.

I was wondering why they are saying ED's scenes "will air through the remainder of the year" (if the quote is right?). According to taping schedule ED's last scenes should air in November (mid? end?) and she said it on FB. So it looks like they wrap up the s/l during November sweeps.
If it wasn't a mistake or incorrect generalization maybe they pretaped some scenes and we see Brady on drugs having Kristen hallucinations through December. Hence the Kristen look-alike drug addict.
This is only my speculations.
