Are John and Paul going to dig up Will's grave? That would be crazy and on the 13th too. Can't wait Days is getting very good
That's just my speculation. The number of things that Paul can do that are illegal to find out if Will is alive or dead are rather limited at this moment so verifying his body in his grave seems logical. Doing it on Friday the 13th, the day Sami comes back seems like a great twist RC would love to write.

I'm hoping so but there's been no hint at all other than the Paul/John illegal spoiler and the picture of Sami at Will's grave so when you add 2+2...
There was an article somewhere about them wanting to exhume the body but Sonny not being able to because they were legally separated when Will died. It also said Lucas refuses, but there is one more person they can ask.
There was a picture of AS - Sami was sitting at the grave. Maybe it's before she gives her permission?
It didn't look like the grave was digged up.

I hope that doesn't air that way because Abby looks ridiculous. Dumb to release a pic of that's just blocking though.
They sometimes do that. I remember the picture where Abby was "hugging" the car (the accident). It looked better when it aired.

Maybe MM was asked to pose for the pic.

I imagine 1 Million or 750K is for 1 week on the air. So I would multiply by 52 for the year. The way the show is taped is not NBC's concern.
I think so too.

Btw, $750K*52 is $39 millions

I wonder how much they spend between 2005-2007 to use songs and singers on they show I know the show still had a big budget in those days but still they had Donald Trump, Clay Aiken, Smokey Robinson they played Rolliing Stones songs also show a real concerts, had Rex Brady sing I got you babe, had country music and singers .
2009 was the big budget cut. That's when they went to the new production schedule of shutting down 15+ weeks a year. They fired Deidre, Drake, Mary Beth, Thaao, Stephen.

April 2004-March 2009
Length of Contract: Five Years (April 2004-March 2009)
Weekly Budget: $1.7 Million-$1.8 Million/per week
Variety Article: (6/2/03) (By Josef Adalian)

April 2009-September 2010...$750,000 less per week
Length of Contract: 18 Months (April 2009-September 2010) (18 Months plus a one-year automatic pick-up based on Nielsen ratings through September 2011, which was picked up by NBC in March 2010)
Weekly Budget: $1.05 Million/per week (per Ken Corday's autobiography...40% cut of last contract) (New shooting schedule goes into effect: no more overtime/Saturday tapings; must be out by 6PM each day; tape a full month of episodes in 3 weeks; studio dark for a week once per month)
So based on that and how DAYS operates 37 weeks a year, it costs NBC approc $39 million a year to fund DAYS.

NBC is paying Megyn Kelly alone $20 million a year, so I wonder what it is costing them to produce and run her show on top of that a year?
Their budget is probably even lower than it was all those years ago and getting even lower with each year.
This quote is from Sony's leaked mails:

I finally heard back from Cheeks this evening. The big obstacle has been Ted Harbert who really wants to move to low cost info/talk shows instead of DOOL after next season. Despite this (and Harbert’s objection), NBC will agree to two more years of DOOL at $775K next season and $750K the following season, provided we go up from our current proposal of $4.25m to settle the Community issue to $4.50m. How do you feel about $4.50m? Given Harbert’s strong push for alternative programming after the next season, I think we’re better off locking in 2 years of DOOL now and paying the additional $250K."

Steve, here’s the financial impact if we were to agree to what NBC is proposing with the 2nd year pickup on Days, but the reduction in license fees.

Jeff,

Based on the current scenario ($4.25m) payment to NBC, and 2 season pickup for Days at $750k and $725k license fee (vs current fee of $775k), the total profit impact to SPT is ($4.1m) ebit. The impact would be realized over the next four fiscal years. Approx ($1m) impacting each year as indicated below:

FY14 - $1m (payment to NBC)
FY15 - $1.5m ($1m- payment to NBC, $500k – lower license fee on Days)
FY16 - $1.1m (all lower license fee on Days)
Fy17 - $500k (all lower license fee on Days)"

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I would actually not mind seeing TOB return as Paige.
If you ever said the same about Melanie, we would know that something is seriously wrong.

This whole thing is kind of strange to me. I don't imagine it would cost 20k if they used an old standard or some public domain song or something?
No. Public domain is fine. That's why they had Kassie sing Beautiful Dreamer.
They also used the instrumental version of Beautiful Dreamer for Brady and Kristen. Did EM really play it or did they use some record?

Even "Happy Birthday" was copyrighted until a year or so ago, and licensing fees had to be paid for tv/film to use it.
Can't they use old songs with the expired copyrights (pre-1922)?

It also doesn't mean a huge amount if Days beats it because Days is more expensive to produce and is not completely owned or produced by NBC.
If anything, it just shows NBC that launching a successful new talk show is very difficult. I think that's an indirect positive for Days.
I think the fact that CBS renewed Y&R (which is a more expensive show than Days) with it's rapidly declining demos for another three years means that these shows aren't so unprofitable as it may seem.
Of course NBC is not CBS but still...

again, Bitchlary is the smartest person in GC.
two minutes in sniping with Lily and she realized that Lily is jealous of BitchUlett pregnancy.
I can't wait to see Bitchlary go head to head with a real nemesis. Because all these folks the writers keep tossing at her isn't the least bit of a challenge.
Am I the only one who doesn't get Hilary's motives. Why does she want Cane and Lily together? Because she wants Jordan? I kind of doubt it.

I was listening to Daytime Confidential (DC) Podcast and the description Jamey gave of that Useless Jordan character was really hilarious and accurate.
what was Sussman thinking when she brought that character on?
Jamey also mentioned the Scott character is also another mistake......and he is so right.
I am really am tired of the Scott/Abby bickering.
I agree with Jamey on both accounts - both actors are handsome but very monotone. I wish their newbies had more charisma. But I guess it's difficult these days when they only have 1-2 takes.

What was this thing with "Java Cafe? Didn't Chad choose Melanie over Abigail at the beginning?
That's where they met. The Melanie stuff was later.
Apparently he didn't think of Abigail as the love of his life back then lol 😉.
