I know this point has been made, but Adrienne is acting like a girl on Teen Mom, rather than a grown ass woman with grown ass kids who has decades of relationship experience. Who runs off crying like that? Woman up and tell your husband your problem; if you don't like him living and working overseas, go with him or tell him it's me or the job. If you think he's cheating, confront him. If you have no proof and he has no history of cheating, then believe him and shut up. Compromise. Communicate. Come direct. I know that even the longest standing of marriages can collapse, but based on how she's acting, I have NO IDEA how they ever made it past the honeymoon.

Why do we get to see Kate & Clyde out on dates but, dont get Jarlena in scenes together. We even had to suffer through a love scene between Kate & Clyde.
I'd like to state for the record that, even if I'm alone, I don't include myself in the above mentioned "we." I love seeing Kate and Clyde on dates, in love scenes, plotting, scheming, drinking, doing their taxes, etc. ad infinitum.

Kthanksbye.

IDK what they're going to come up with in regards to what Justin was doing in Dubai. But I HATE the ways Days acts like parents of adult children should still be acting like parents of young children. Sonny is a grown man. There is no reason his daddy should have to be in town at all times for him. He also has three other grown sons, and he can't do that for all of them. Not being in town when Sonny was stabbed isn't a crime. It's life. It's what happens when you're an adult. Parents are always parents. Don't get me wrong. But I don't like how this show implies that parents of grown children should be around to hold their kids' hands all the time. That's not how that works, and that doesn't make Justin a bad dad. It might make him a bad husband, but it isn't reflective of his parenting at all. As a matter of fact, it doesn't matter much what he was doing in Dubai when it comes to Sonny....that's only relevant to his relationship with Adrienne. These writers seem to really have no idea what adults are like.
Right, but taking into account all those sensible points, you still have an affair that needs justifying, so fuck Ned and his "bad parenting"; his wife needs to enter into a torrid love affair with her son-in-law's father.

Rafe! He's alive LOL. Looks like Victor is up to something!

Really curious about the Marlena/Clyde therapy but it needs to go somewhere. They just keep talking about it.
Yeah I don't think Victor is just rolling over either, and I'm a little disappointed Clyde would fall for that. But I guess being the winner 9 times out of 10 is pretty good when your last name isn't DiMera or Kiriakis.

I'm really looking forward to his next session with Marlena as the last one was a great balance of revealing and mysterious. Plus I liked JR and DH's chemistry.

More CC craziness:

I used to follow her bizarre Twitter account (where she sounds like she drinks a lot and is not on any wagon). I remember her stating that she AND MR played their 2011 scenes together will subliminal lesbian lust. Like that Carly and Jennifer were secretly hot for each other.

What is CC's fascination with portraying lesbians?
CC is bisexual. She gave an interview when she was on Guiding Light during her lesbian storyline and confirmed it.

Didn't know that. So this thread can be fun AND informative! :D

What's with everyone else's fascination with portraying straight people?

I've never seen Venice and wasn't watching when she was on DAYS, but I can appreciate CC's dedication to giving a sliver of space to a highly marginalized group.

That's right. Then, Drake talked about having to "work" at chemistry with Lauren (and his other leading ladies) while his chemistry with Deidre was "natural."
Exactly! And let's not even get into that. :eyeroll: That deals with a whooooole 'nother situation. :whistling: :sex: That we don't really have any concrete "evidence" of. :whistling:
Oh good Lord.

I'm interested in what steps Victor takes and whether Damon is alive or dead.
Yes, I'll definitely be tuning in next Friday for that. Victor looked so defeated in the hospital chapel, but I can't imagine he'll wallow in that feeling for long. I also can't imagine what his counter-move will be. Clyde's drawn a viciously clear line in the sand.

I also hope they start to play the complicated Kate angle in this feud. The writers have largely kept her in the dark thus far. She's issued Clyde some vague warnings about Victor's pernicious forms of retribution, and been given some strangely benign "you boys will never get along" lines, but that's it.

Down the road, it would be interesting to see where her loyalty lies. Her relationship with Victor, though complicated and full of snarky one-upmanship, remains pretty caring and familial. Should her relationship with Clyde deepen, with whom does she side? You can't play the role of referee in a fight with guns and knives.

Does anyone know if James Read's accent is genuine?
Not really. I've watched interviews he's done since joining the show and he's definitely laying it on thick for the part.

I really liked the Victor/Clyde scenes. Both John and James played the parts with just the right beats.

While Clyde is the nastiest villain we have had in awhile,I'm glad for the change from couple swapping bed partners, and slut calling stories.Along with the Will/Sonny/Paul,this Kiriakis/Weston feud is making for great umbrella stories.Almost everyone is being affected and is on screen. Now,they need to add Marlena,as Clyde's therapist, and John,as an investigating cop,and it would be as perfect as these writers could make it.
I prefer Ian to Clyde - he was super creepy without the sleaze.
I couldn't get down with Ian. JB's cadence and overall demeanor as that character was so cartoonish and overwrought. I've liked him in other roles, but that one was painful to watch.
Yes.. but I loved Louise Sorel as Vivian so that's obviously the kind of thing I go for.
I can't even compare those two. LS' Vivian had a je ne ses quoi that made even the dumbest of storylines sparkle.

Victor looked so pathetic and defeated and Clyde looked over confident. I guess we know what happens when a criminal looks smug and over confident.
I don't understand this double standard. Why can Stefano, Victor, Kate, Tony, EJ, Sami, or any other long-standing criminal on this show show smugness and confidence, but when Clyde does it it's indicative of his coming demise? I guess my point is we've had a LONG list of morally bankrupt characters on this show who have ended lives and threatened to end lives, but Clyde is the one typically being labeled the 'the goner.'

I personally love this character; yes, he's a completely shitty person, but he's needed. And James Read's caliber of acting is needed. Clyde's machinations have been so fun to watch, and I hope they continue indefinitely.

Furthermore, I love him with Kate. I think the progression of their relationship has stalled a bit, but I still swoon over their palpable chemistry, their excitement for each other, and their co-conspiratorial alliance. I really want the writers to find a way to make those two in it for the long haul.

Adrienne and Lucas: I just...can't. BD and JE are delivering their little hearts out of the material, but it just doesn't work for me. I like that the two of them are getting more airtime, but why must it be this random hodgepodge mess?

JJ/Eve: Speaking of morally bankrupt...those two are scumbags. I miss the old JJ who did drugs and hated the same people I hated. Somebody get that kid a joint.

I don't think Sami belongs to be included in that crowd. And Clyde has other problems that make him less viable as a survivable villain. He's a child rapist, and that fact that Victor compared him to Curtis Brown tells me everything I need to know about his fate. I think he's a temporary villain, and I don't think the writers ever intended for him to last a long time.
The Sami point is debatable, sure, but my overall point stands. The writers could also change their mind and have the pendulum swing in the other direction: Clyde's supposed rape of Jordan could be rewritten and Clyde could be kept long-term. That's the smarter move in my opinion but we'll just have to wait and see.
