I'm so hesitant to like anything on this show, but I can say with confidence that James Read is fantastic. The way he chose to have a smiling Clyde get into Rafe's personal space today while talking about his relationship with Jordan was brilliant. I just love when this show hires actual actors.

Also, Kate and Rafe have been in each other's orbit for - what? - a year and a half now? And in just one episode Kate and Clyde have produced material that's infinitely more interesting. More of this, writers.

That's a good picture of them, but his hand looks like it is on her butt! LOL!
And tuck your shirt in, James! Geez... ;)

Jordan is asking Rafe for a favor? How about they let Jordan have a week of being pissed off at him instead? Her character needs a chance to show a sassy side. She should be giving him some words of choice and a very cold shoulder. Make the guy step up his groveling game for crying out loud! I'm frustrated they they put all the reaction to his cheating in one days time and at the end of it she's considering giving him another chance! Rafe's getting off way too easy. I get Jordan being weepy and wearing her heart on her sleeve in the aftermath to show she's still in love, but she should also have the chance to show some real anger at being betrayed.

You make a good point. I don't think this pairing has done much to enhance either of these characters. The writers haven't done much to invest us outside of "Here are two pretty people; like them!" Jordan could've really scored some cool points by going on with her life, having fun, and letting Rafe suffer a little.

I give AS a lot of credit. She has let them make her look like hell since it makes sense in the context of the story.
But really, Kate and Sami are showing less brain power than JJ & Rory today. In what universe do you screw over a mob boss and not risk a hit? Didn't Sami go through this before?
I think LK is the only vet that I've never seen without makeup. Even when Kate was in the hospital when they thought she had cancer, she was fully made up.

AS is letting us see her real hair today. Hair which is clearly very damaged. The ends are just shreds of dead hair.
LK will post pics online without makeup but that's not really Kate's style. The closest would be some instances with non-waterproof mascara. One scene with Lisa Rinna's Billie comes to mind where she just had streaks of black tears running down her cheeks.

But Kate's the type to get up in the morning and get ready for battle and a bare face is more vulnerable than she would ever allow.

Clyde shows his feelings for Kate.

I'm so intrigued by this, mostly because I haven't a clue where it's going. I hope Clyde winds up being a shades of gray character rather than a sociopath. And I hope Kate gets to hold onto her agency. A lot to ask with these writers...

Other than the "we've seen all that before" spoilers concerning EJ and Daniel, these look pretty good.

Can't wait to see more Kate and Clyde interaction!

soaps.com Interview with Lauren Koslow
Loved this interview. A few things...

"The times that we really have seen her fall in love, I think we got to see another side of Kate; to see that more vulnerable side and maybe a little bit of the person she was before she discovered the toughness of life. I love being able to do both of them, and as a matter of fact we’re moving into an area where we might be doing that again."

#KaLyde - Could Kate be Skyler to Clyde's Walter White?

Soaps.com: Could Jordan possibly take the place of Sami as Kate’s new nemesis?

I get why the interviewer asked this question, but it is so, so silly.

3. Will would be a much more interesting character with a little edge to him. Not flat out evil, of course, but Lucas-like. It would make so much sense given his upbringing, and I completely agree with LK on that front.

4. Even her explanation of Kate and Rafe's relationship makes no sense, so you know the writers don't have a fucking clue either.

Thanks for posting this!

What he needs to do is prove his love by staying away from the old hag and be there to protect Jordan from creepy Clyde if Rafe can ever be informed of what that old geezer is up to. Rafe's instincts used to be sharper than this, I don't get that he still believes that Kate is his or anybody's friend.
Yikes. A lot of ageist comments of late. First off, I'll be MORE than happy to look like Lauren Koslow when I'm her age. And if I were a man, I'd say the same of James Read.

In regards to this stupid, mind-numbing storyline: Kate as a character isn't being considered at all. Since Jordan's arrival in Salem, Kate has been a plot device used to unearth Tammy Sue's past. The writers don't care that Kate's interest in Rafe is ridiculous; they don't care that Kate's vengeance towards Jordan is unwarranted. They wanted someone to stir the pot and shed light on Jordan's past life. No more; no less.

So yes, Kate is acting pathetic and desperate and delusional. But just know, dear viewers, that it's all for a higher purpose; it's all for the writers' sacred plot points.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
If I were Jordan I would dump Rafe and never look back. How would you ever be able to trust someone like him to not jump into bed with someone else whenever he felt bad about something? Here he was, totally all about Jordan since the day he met her, barely giving her space to breath, and professing his love to her at every turn, then his sister goes to jail and he gets drunk and has sex with his former lover. Nah, he's not worth it. Jordan should leave town or stay and get together with Lucas, which would piss off Kate, and added benefit.
Goes to show how forced turning Rafe into a cheating scumbag this whole Jafe 'angst' plot is. Just throw 'em in bed. It doesn't matter if it makes no sense. Rafe's sad that should suffice. The actors must have to hold themselves back from ripping up scripts when the writers bludgeon their characters on a whim. Rafe's been reduced to just another asshole who can't keep his pants zipped should an opportunity present itself.
Because Tomlin is too lazy and lacks the creativity to take sleaze characters like Daniel, EJ (when he's not a groveling wimp), etc and turn them into likeable characters...it's easier for him to take the good guys down to the filth with the others. Therefore, Rafe must cheat. But I agree - it would have been enough for Kate to have taken his drunk ass home & plop him in bed, and let her gaslight him into thinking they hit the sheets. It would have caused friction between Rafe & Jordan, but we'd all know that it was much ado about nothing.
Only that would make Kate look like a raving lunatic ala the Daniel Years and I don't think her fans or anyone watching long enough would find that too kosher either.

It looks like Rafe's nose and corner of his mouth is bloody. Maybe Ben gets to give him a few punches too.

Also I can't wait to see Jordan slap Kate again. Long time coming and she deserves this one more than the first.
"Good girl" Jordan sure has a proclivity towards violence.

Yea it's gonna piss me off for Sami to blab to Jordan. I'm confused as to why she would do that. I'm aware Sami is a time bomb right now with her Revenge From Hell World Tour but Jordan has nothing to do with that...neither does Rafe. What's the point?
The point would have been to keep her loyalty toward Kate going...Kate is the one that wants Rafe out of the picture with Jordan for whatever reason...obviously either because she thinks CLyde will take Jordan down and if Rafe is around he'd prevent that, or because she wants to continue fucking him on the side.

IDK but the entire thing is just weird....she implies to Jordan that if Rafe loved her he wouldn't have cheated, but somehow she continued to vaguely defend Ej yesterday when Abby was trying to drive that point home...she just dismissed what Ejabby had as this mistake and a distraction....so why does she go for the jugular now with Jordan? Cray
Umm...Sami went for Jordan's jugular because Jordan went for hers first?

Sami strolled over smugly to needle Abby about her resignation in front of Jordan. There were lots of ways that Jordan could have registered disapproval of Sami's bitchy attitude/tactics toward her friend, Abby, that did not involve Rafe and his relationships with Jordan and Sami.

But Jordan jumped on the A train big time and chose to say that Sami was just jealous of both of them because Sami couldn't make her relationships work...with EJ...or Rafe...or anybody else.

So not surprising to me that Sami pulled the Kate card on her for trumps.
Touche to Jordan and favor repaid to Kate...all with one truth told.

Why not?

Yeah, this was my take on it too. Jordan really went beyond defending her friend and stooped right down to Sami's level.

I took such pleasure in that scene. I am *that* bored with and over the Jordan character.

I pray someone...anyone...learned a lesson and will never let Suzanne Rogers and Molly Burnett write anything for this show ever again. My Daniel disdain aside, everytime I hear Maggie talk about her "son", I cringe.
I don't know this story. What did they write?
The story goes that Molly and Suzanne were having such a love fest behind the scenes that they wanted to have the show make Melanie related to Maggie and not long after (probably to shut them up) sure enough, the show made it happen by having Daniel become Egg Baby. I think in certain situations an actor could be allowed to question dialogue and things like that but to totally change history....that's tacky in my opinion. And ya see what it's done to Maggie...
 Wow. Thanks. That's beyond lame.

Sami telling Jordan what Rafe did is going to make me hate her. Jordan never did anthing to her and Sami should actually feel a kinship with her since they both share the experience of a partner cheating on them. She should side with Jordan against Kate. Sami, you and Jordan are in the sisterhood of the wronged woman.
Sami's not exactly a girl's girl, but even if she were, she's far too embedded with Kate in this revenge plot to turn on her over Jordan, someone Sami barely knows.

Speaking of Jordan, dear God, can she just have one scene where she doesn't look painfully constipated? I get that her life sucks right now, but the writers never gave her any fun, interesting scenes to balance out all this breathy whining, so I just find it so insufferable.
