DAYS: Lucas turns to Chloe?
May 29 2008, 02:50 PM
hmmmmm...interesting...I would like to see these two in action. I am curious to see if they have on screen chem. I love how Hilgey is shaking up the cast and having all sorts of interactions we have never seen before on DAYS.

Don't give her too much credit. I think Ed's the one shaking things up behind the scenes, and I'm starting to think this show's got yet another wrong writer.

Still, the situation is by no means as dire as ATWT or GL, so we'll see how it plays out.

I'm one of the three viewers who hated this story from beginning to horrid end.

Do NOT get me started on this story.

Mason, I must be one of the other two.

AMC: Sydney Penny News.
Dixie and Julia are two different situations, yes. But they are long-time characters the fans are used to seeing. And yes, they can do anything to undo death these days, ala Steve's reference to Jack Deveraux rising from the dead with seemingly no mention of his donated organs (don't EVEN get me started on Reilly! lol)

It's not so much Julia that I'm railing against, it's the idea that another long-time character has to bite the bullet for presumed shock value. We won't see her family for a funeral and in six weeks it will be like she never existed.

And people wonder why daytime ratings are dropping into the crapper.

AMC: Sydney Penny News.
Julie Carruthers, you two-faced *&$#.

On one hand, you acknowledge killing off Dixie was a big mistake, and now you turn around and do this???

You could have sent Julia off. With this move, you go one step too far.

Perhaps it should be your job that gets the ax.

I don't think the show jumped the shark one bit. I compare this to Lost; at the end of the third season, just when you thought all the flashbacks were played out, one little flash-forward "what the hell" moment at the end of the episode immediately re-energized the show.

I'll see how the premiere plays out in the fall, but myself I thought "what the hell is going on?"

The difference is that DH isn't nearly as cleverly written as Lost is. If it were, I'd have more faith that this 5 year flash forward won't be a total bomb, but it isn't, so I don't.

We'll see. As long as James Denton isn't leaving the show I'll give the finale a pass. He and Teri Hatcher have good chemistry.

Shoot, I'd have offered to audition for that role.

Desperate Housewives
The twist that it wasn't Dylan was largely given away in the first couple episodes of the season if you were paying attention, so yes it was like JER.

What the hell just happened?

I wonder if that's Teri Hatcher's daughter's boyfriend or something - but why a kiss on the lips?

Yikes. See you in September, I guess.

DAYS: Bill & Susan Hayes news
But remember why they brought Doug back in 2004? I'm still trying to forget that. :P

ABC Fall Schedule: Only 2 new shows on list

Boo to no more Women's Murder Club!

A double boo hiss to you ABC. Wife Swap and Supernanny on Friday nights? Christ. Good luck finding your audience with that lineup, guys. :puke:

At least Aubrey Dollar is still "employed" on Somerset -- seen on "another network" (or website, lol), but I'd rather see the real thing on my TV screen, along with Angie Harmon.

Nice going, Alphabet. I'm going to heave. :soapbox:

GL's Gina Tognoni to Appear on BWR!
Nuts!! And me unable to be there to listen live. Na'Vell, tell Gina she is absolutely gorgeous... and ask her what it's like not to work much with Rob Bogue anymore. They had charazzma.

If it stops all the nasty references to the "R" word,I'm all for it!

If they refer to what happened as anything other than rape, there will be a new nasty "R" word in town: REWRITE.

ITA. That's why no matter how they address what happened, I'll always hate the idea of Sami and EJ as a couple. I'd rather see, EJ with that loser Nicole. Sami belongs with Lucas IMO.

Well, it won't be as horrible a rewrite as Stefano having Patch all these years (oh hi Lawrence Alamain!), but it's a rewrite nevertheless.

So Days pulls a Luke and Laura, I guess. Maybe it's best not to do stories like this at all.

DAYS: Roscoe Born IN!
I fall into the category of "ya, there's too many newbies... but it's Roscoe F*** Born!" Great move, Days.

Does anyone know whether Shari is even still writing?  Perhaps she's retired or doesn't have an interest in returning.  I've never read a quote from her recently that indicated interest on her part.

It's a moot point right now, anyway. For now, it's Dena.

Which is fine by me at the moment since I'm enjoying quite a bit of what's going on.

I'd love to see Sheri back in some capacity someday, be it as a writer or consultant. For now, I am enjoying Dena's second go-round. I still think getting rid of Hogan was a travesty and I disagree with Dena's position during the writer's strike, but so far it hasn't hindered her.

SOD: Chelsea dumps Nick, kisses Daniel

As I said in the daily thread, what has happened to Nick is the only problem I have with this Chelsea/Daniel thing.

Having said that, as much as I love Chick, I'm happy they did this rather then have him twisting in the wind some more.

One thing that is interesting is that Rachel mentioned not working with Blake much anymore, which seems to imply he is sticking around, at least to her knowledge.  I admit I'm shocked he hasn't been fired yet.  Makes you wonder if Chick is the longterm plan in the end and this Chelsea/Daniel thing is what I think it is...just a way to dive into Daniel's past and maybe develop Chelsea in some way.  We'll see.

I hope you are right about this. I hope that Chick are the long term plan and this is just something to make Chelsea realize what she had with Nick and to develop Chelsea as a grown up character and not the brat she used to be and is becoming again.

I had read someplace that the show was going to cast a woman to start airing in June or July that would be a love interest for Daniel. Now I wonder if that's going to happen.

I can't really commit either way because Chick haven't been on enough to really care about them. This whole story seems forced.

I wonder what Sheffer would have done -- Ken, care to comment? Oh, that's right, you shoved Sheffer out the door as part of your plan to foist Dena on us again. :P

The best reason to keep Nick around is he's a Horton, and maybe we'll see that story now regarding his medical research.
