Would they bring back the character of Peter Blake with Melissa Reeves still on the show? I mean I know it would be a different actor in the role but I wonder if she would feel awkward interacting with the character considering past history.

I would think the huge casting news would have to be ED returning as Kristen. The only thing I can think that might be as big would be the return of Shawn and Belle. I like MA but I don't think his return would be considered huge right now. Eric Brady coming back would only be huge if Jensen Ackles were in the role, which ain't happening. I'm putting my money on ED.

Deidre looked amazing ive seen her in person and she looked good but last night in that blue dress was freaking hot!!! Kristian looked good too and Lisa Rinna was great too i didnt know she was presenting but Molly and those teeth were horrible to look at lol...Susan Lucci seemed to be acting or does she always talk like that? and grasping the mic lol please..overrated for sure ...Erica S brought to Days would be awsome for NBC and Days but really NBC would have to fork over some money to get her...she would be great as Laura Horton and any other character maybe Kitty Horton or Sandy Horton or some other Horton we havent seen in a long long time that we could accept in the role..she would be great playing opposite Joseph M Deidre Hall Lauren Koslow (w/o the blue) John Aniston and Drake...anyone see the red carpet Kristian interviewed and Crystal C was i the background glad she didnt win to boost her ego...hopefully Days will get some lead acting nom's next year with Abe and Lexi
Erika S would be a great Laura Horton. I never much cared for Jamie Lyn Bauer in the role. Kitty Horton has been dead for forty years and I think Erika would be too old for Sandy Horton, but she would be perfect as Laura.

For those who asked about the monkey's paw. It's been a long time since I read the story but it's about a couple who get a magic monkey's paw as a gift. It will grant three wishes. First they wish for money and the wish is granted. Then their son is killed in a terrible accident. A couple weeks later the couple decide to use their second wish to bring their son back. Their son comes back but as a zombie badly mutilated and decomposed. They use their third and final wish that he was back in his grave. The moral of the story is be careful what you wish for, it may turn out to be the opposite of what you wanted.

#team Andrew

His mask is the only thing that makes it plausible that she would run. He's so hot.
He also has the best hair of the male younger set.I have no idea what they are going for with Chad and Sonny's hair.I also hate Melanie's grandma sandals.
Yep, Andrew is definitely hot. He reminds me of a young bad boy Patch (aka Steve) Johnson.
I get the same vibe from him. I like the ideas some people have had of making him really be Andrew Donovan. If the new writers are smart they'll keep him around.

I've said it before & I'll say it again, DAYS has been SHIT at cultivating any sort of lasting & consistant next generation. IMO, the last group they had with any sort of consistancy or staying power was the Last Blast crew and we see how long ago that's been. I understand that a lot of the successive "younger sets" of characters became decemated when the performers left at the end of their contracts (and then the show helped by writing off the other characters around them in their group), but I don't care how popular a character was with one performer, if you've made that character important in their family dynamic or age group, you can't just wholesalely write them and everyone around them off and then just start over with a new group of youngens. If you were going to make Chelsea important as a next generation Brady, she should've been recast when Rachel Melvin left. I don't care how popular she was (which, to be honest, I've never really understood because I never really cared for her). Ditto for Max. When Shelly Henning decided to leave, Stephanie should've been recast to continue to play off of Melanie as a rival (even if both characters are written as "good" characters because not every "good" character gets along). If you want to build up the Horton family with a new generation, after a period of resting the failed version of Jeremy, he should've been brought back. When each of these groups fail/is cut short (either due to storyline mismanagement, miscasting, generally WTFery), TPTB always fall back on bringing back the older stars (who keep getting older & older), shoving them to the frontburner, and sticking them in the stories they SHOULD be writing for the younger characters. I'm sorry, I love all the supercouples as much as the next person. I want to see them on my screen and enjoy their stories, but LOGICALLY you canNOT popular a soap opera with front burner characters in their 40s-60s and expect to garner any sort of target demo outside of the same group of viewers who've watched the show for years and started watching with their parents. I'll be perfectly honest -- this show IS demographically TOO OLD. These stories should be focused on the children of the 80s supercouples with the 80s supercouples functioning in a support capacity (even recurring in many cases). Yes, that includes John & Marlena and Bo & Hope etc. There comes a point where they cannot have 80 year old John & Marlena battling 100 year old Stefano DiMera while maneuvering around with their walkers & rascals and that's the EXACT direction this show is heading.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I see no problem with NBC wanting the show to go younger. I think ( along with some bad HW's) that not cultivating the next generation has been Days biggest problem. Everyone goes on about how great the 80's were. And they were great. But they forget that the veteran characters who had carried Days stories throughout the 60's and 70's were shoved aside and the show concentrated almost entirely on newer, younger characters in their twenties and thirties. The only veteran character from the 70's who remained a frontburner character was Marlena. And if she had been in her forties she probably would have been backburnered too.

So many good young characters have been written off this show it's almost criminal. The next generation characters are out there and available. They need to be brought back and they should be the ones driving story. Stefano needs to be killed off and EJ take his place as Salem's villain. Bring back Eric as his rival for Nicole and bring back Phillip as his rival in business. Bring back Belle, Shawn and Chloe and reignite that quad. Keep Nick around and being back Chelsea, Stephanie, and Jeremy. I like the idea of SORASing Ciara, Theo, and JT. With all these young characters driving story then hopefully EJ, Sami, and Rafe won't be on all the damn time. Seriously, is there a single story that EJ isn't in somehow?

That doesn't mean the older vets can't have stories. But everyone has their time on the frontburner, then it's time to step back. I remember when Doug and Julie were Days biggest supercouple. And for those who weren't watching back then, they were the very definition of a supercouple. But there came a time when they had to step back for ytounger characters. The same should apply to Bope and Jarlena.

I still think Days can have a great future but it may take NBC pushing the matter in order for that to happen.

Tuesday ("Representing Will")
Sami agrees to let Carrie help with Will's case; Andrew kidnaps Melanie; Lexie passes away in Abe's arms.
It's going to be totally aggravating if they make it out like Justin isn't a capable lawyer to represent Will when he was Carly's lawyer when she went on trial for shooting Melanie.

I don't see anything wrong with Carrie representing Will. She's not exactly a stranger. She's his aunt, plus Will lived with her and Austin in Switzerland for quite awhile. No other lawyer in Salem is going to care as much about Will as she does. It's not a dis against Justin to have Carrie as Will's lawyer. While she's still in Salem she's the logical choice.

Campaign Plans and Ideas
I know that Tomlin was Exec. Producer before and actually hasn't been HW since the early eighties. I'm still going to hope that he and Whitesell do a good job. Does anyone know what stories Tomlin was responsible for when he was HW in the past. Maybe this will give us an idea of the kind of stuff we'll be seeing from them. I must admit the rumors that Dannifer will be back together isn't giving me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

Q&A video from Peter and Kristian's event
They were so thrilled by the shit that MarDar was writing, maybe they're not the best judges for what makes up a good storyline. In fact all the actors were excited by the crap MarDar was writing. If the network is insisting on going younger then I think it's pretty likely that Bope and Jarlena will be working less. I'm still hoping to be pleasantly surprised,

Interesting/Spoilerish Tweets, Week of June 4
We have no proof that MR doesn't support MA, but it does seem very clear that she does not support the Jack/Jen pairing. If she's blocking all the JnJ fans and happily twittering away with the Dannifer fans that's pretty damning evidence. Do we know for sure that Jack is being killed off (again)? If Jennifer is back with Daniel within a few days/weeks after the death of the love of her life {who she had just gotten re-engaged to) that makes Jennifer look REALLY BAD. There's no way the writers can spin it to make Jennifer sympathetic. If they insist on doing this I hope we get Abby hating her mother for moving on so quickly. Even if Jack returns the fracture between Jennifer and Abby should last a long time.

Interesting/Spoilerish Tweets, Week of June 4
I've never liked Jennifer. In fact I was never a Jack/Jen fan simply because I never could stand the character of Jennifer. I don't understand her love for Dannifer. They have no chemistry and the pairing is obviously very unpopular since the whole story was so abruptly dropped. If they're planning to keep Daniel I'd prefer they bring back Chloe. I actually liked them together. I think there's still a lot of story for Jack and it would be nice if they brought MA back. But I've no interest in seeing him back with Jennifer.

HOpefully this will end any kind of cutesy, father/son bonding that Will and EJ have. Will should NOT be sympathetic to anything EJ does...the dude proxy raped his mom, for fuck sakes!!! And he just finished blackmailing him!

Will has a dad...an awesome dad who went to prison for him! EJ can't even care for his own kids, much less his slut's kid.
Actually, I have to give credit to Mar / Dar for Will and EJ that's probably one of the few things that I think they've done well, I find their relationship topnotch and interesting. But who knows if it was just the writers idea because there are also others who dictates what should be written. :)
I like their relationship too and I think it gives some interesting storyline possibilities for Lucas as well. I like the idea of EJ and Lucas battling over Will's soul sort of...
I like the idea of EJ trying to seduce Will to the dark side. A relationship sort of like Emperor Palpatine and Anakin Skywalker. But the whole notion that they care for each other in any way is beyond stupid.

SOD: Joseph Mascolo Speaks Out About Being Written Out of Salem...for now
This was a murder. Wouldn't there have been an autopsy? There has to be for legal reasons. That always happens when there is a homicide. I hate it when shows ignore obvious things like that. Plus we've seen spoiler pictures of Stefano lying in a open casket. Doesn't that mean he's been to a funeral home and been embalmed? I'm sure Days will just ignore all this and bring him back like nothing ever happened. Such a blah story already.

I really don't want to see Stefano obsessing over Marlena again. Years ago when they were younger that was great, but I'm just not interested in seeing a man in his eighties obsessing over a woman in her sixties.

Spoilers for the week of June 11th
The Kayla spoiler is the only one that interests me. I'm guessing they are breaking up her and Steve and I'm fine with that. If she's going to be on the show then give her something to do besides tending bar and serving chowder. SN is on another show and has no desire to return to Days so why should Kayla continue to be wasted. Let Kayla move on with her life and find love again.
