I'm thinking this might be part of an "It's A Wonderful Life"-esque holiday miracle.
I was thinking the same, but would they really go to the same well two years in a row?

I love Betty White. But I feel this whole pancreatic cancer thing is emotionally flat and terribly flat.

The only moment I liked, in the whole thing, was Ann asking for medical marijuana.

Billy Miller's perfectly fine as Billy. Sometimes he can be a bit much, but when he's good, he's great.

And David Tom, the last I saw of him, looks like an aging fratboy. No way he could pull off being the playboy that Billy's been developed as over time. Not one way.
He could shave....

Billy being a "playboy" is a total rewrite of the character anyway.
Yeah, but it is a totally plausible rewrite. He was embittered after losing Mac...drowned himself in booze, gambling, and dames. For all the legitimate critiques aimed at Y&R these days, this one is more of a plausible character evolution.
