SOD: DAYS Day's Rafe to Marlena: "Please help my Sister"
Actually, I kind of like this. It's contrived, but it's not a contrived romance. (yet). It ended up in SOD and not being an article about Daniel or Ejami or Nicole tromping. It's giving some focus to a couple of characters who haven't really been getting much focus. It's getting Marlena back in her profession (contrived or not). It's acknowledging Gabi still exists and that there is more to Ari's life than Will. And, I'll stop there because I might end up regretting my words later. In the old days, it would have been the beautiful start to a new storyline, possibly overlapping storylines, but we wouldn't have known where it was going, but we trusted to go to a good place. And I'll keep in my happy place about that for a while, LOL.

I wonder if CindyHaskins1 @CindyHaskins12 is Cynthia Haskins who once posted here regularly.I miss her.She used to crack me up because she thumbs down almost every post.
I change my thumbs up to a thumbs down in honor of my homie CynthiaHaskins1, who can't be here with us tonight. ;)

Edit: I guess Kyle Brandt won't be coming back as Philip :blulaugh:

Kyle Brandt KyleBrandt:
No thank you. RT @CindyHaskins12: @KyleBrandt Please come back to Days of Our Lives and reprise your role as philip kiriakis
Wow - Cynthia is sure getting some action on Twitter...who would have ever thought that she CAN TALK!
Actually, when she first joined this board, she did post. She had a very specific way of writing; she'd begin every post with "Hi, I just want to say that..." I also remember she would express her opinions as facts. For example, she would write, "Hi, I want to say that Bope is a supercouple and they will never break up." She kind of only accepted her opinion as valid and ignotred what the other side had to say.
You know...I don't have much to say anymore. I could do that.

"Hello, my name is Lady and I just want to say that Charity Rhamer was the best Belle on the planet. And that we need Daniel and Jennifer together because they are a supercouple."

I also do a mean thumbs' down.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
James Scott was on the show for 8 years. Alison Sweeney was on the show for 21 years. I can see why she got preferential treatment due to being on the show for that many years.
Really? Tell that to Matt Ashford, Dee Hall, Drake Hogestyn, Peter Reckell, and others who had been around just as long or longer. Preferential treatment is never good business sense, and it can certainly build resentment from fans of other characters. Certainly doesn't endear me any more to MZZZZZ Sween. Humility and grace is much more endearing to me. Don't know about anyone else.
But why dislike Ali Sweeney for how other actors were treated by TPTB? It's not like they treated her any better with her last craptastic storylines and even crapier exit.
Because she exacerbates the situation. Nuff said.

some may disagree in the way James Scott left the show.
but I think it was classy. The man quit and he seems like he never asked for a goodbye tale and in my opinion, that was very classy.
Imagine, Sami's beloved husband died and she mourned all of two days and suddenly running around like her husband didn't did in her arms just mere days ago.
well anyway, that my two-cents on that.

but excellent news, if its true ---- Theresa is preggers...............
can't ask for more delicious story than that.
unfortunately, I cannot imagine imbecile Brady as a father.
I don't really follow what you're saying, but James did say that he told them he was leaving when he did so that they'd have time to write an appropriate exit. Wouldn't that be asking for a goodbye tale? I don't think wanting or not wanting that or asking for or not asking for that is a sign of classiness though.
what I am implying is Mr. Scott's exit seems a very subdue in comparison to Ms. Sweeney's.
For the last week, Ms. Sweeney's exit from the show has been nothing but a promotion to her future projects. In my opinion, that's just similar to the commercial breaks between the soap segments. Which also feels like I am watching 30 minutes of commercial. I would preferred if Ms. Sweeney's exit would have been more subdued. But then again, some may disagree which is okay because she was an integral part of the show for many years.

Maybe Kristen will switch embryos.
So there could be a drama with Theresa's baby paternity, because Brady wouldn't be his (as per casting call) father.
How do you switch implanted embryos?
The same way a dead guy who donates organs comes back to life.

SOD: A November to Remember
I haven't watched in months. I'm not exactly sure what it is that makes me not want to watch. Difficult to put my finger on it: I guess part of it is coming here and seeing reactions ahead of time, but when I did watch, I zoned out. There is nothing really to keep my interest. Granted, EJami turned me off for various reasons, but that's not an excuse. I look at the previews and think back to when I did last watch, and....there was no spark. I was allowing myself to invest in Nicole and Eric, and poop. The slow burn of Aiden and Hope (whatever their mashup is) was starting to fizzle. I like James Read, but there wasn't enough there. Things didn't make sense. There was no gradual segue. Things turned on a dime. In the old days, one story's climax would gradually and seamlessly lead into the premiere of another story before we realized it, keeping us hooked. Very little humor like in the old days. I LOVED the humor. I miss Calliope and Eugene. I miss Vivian and Tony and Andre, campy as it was. (I wasn't watching during the previous Susan years). I miss crazy scenes like Sami and Nicole rolling in the sewer. As weird as Reilly was, he had some funny things going on that just caught my attention.
I miss the truly evil villains. Love/hate relationships aren't true love/hate relationships (see Lumi). They were ugly and nasty (see Eric and Daniel and anything they have to do with Nicole).

I honestly don't get my panties in a wad over new characters. It happens in TV all the time. Now, when they have perfectly good characters that could just use some new life, yeah. There's probably no reason why some existing characters can't have the storylines probably planned for new characters. What I do mind is the interjection of new characters for the sake of interjecting new characters. What I do mind is the interjection of history ("AH, they DO remember!") for the sake of interjecting history without carrying through thoughtfully and making it a real part of the canvas.
So, yeah, even though I no longer have cable and haven't set up a digital antenna yet, I could watch on NBC.com. But I really don't care to. It would just be background noise. Sorry for the dissertation. I should be writing my real one. But, after seeing these spoilers (even though spoilers should be vague)...I'm not intrigued. I guess I have finally fallen for "Fool me once. Shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me". I can't buy into what they say.
