SOD: Eric tells Nicole he can't marry her
I want to know whose cornflakes AZ pissed in.

Tuesday, March 25th Daily Discussion
The scenes with Marlena and the boys are beyond adorable. Everything else is just kinda there. Man, I do NOT like Sweeney's hair like that.Looks like she didn't rinse her conditioner out. Way too flat.

Sami looks like she really needs a big honking bottle of shampoo.

OMG this show is the equivalent of bad sex.

They tease you & make you think it's going to be really good.

And it end up being a big letdown & a sticky mess.
I frigging love this analogy.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm really hoping that Ericole are headed to the altar with a huge lie hanging over Nicole's head. Because nothing makes a couple more fun to watch than knowing they're going to implode. Sigh...
It can be a double wedding with Sami and EJ, and Nick or Kristen or Stefano or whoever can start dropping photo bombs all over the place............

Quoting limited to 4 levels deepHas it been established when his wife has died? I was wondering if he and Chase came to Salem recently (like this school year).
Yes, Aiden told Hope and Fr. Luis that his wife died.

There's another scene from last week, or so, where we were reminded that she died.

ETA: Actually, I think it's been mentioned more than twice. For some reason I feel like there was a mention during the bake sale scenes as well.
I knew she had died. My question was do we know how long ago.

I am intrigued by Aiden's past when it comes to alcohol. Though I don't want to find out he was the drunk driver.
That could be painful, especially if it ends up bringing up shades of Zach (even though Chelsea wasn't drunk; just careless)

You're both wrong and you're both right which is why "very clear" doesn't work. If something is clear in one scene and not clear in another, it's not actually clear.
I stand by my statement; EJ slut shamed Abby, told her have a good life, had zero contact or lingering thoughts about her, only saw her again when Sami informed him of the pregnancy scare and then had the most wonderful celebration when he found out she was not. There is no ambiguity here from my POV on who and what EJ wants!
How did he slut shame her? From everything I've seen, EJ is always delicate with her and treats her with care. And in anycase, how can EJ slut shame when he's the one cheating on his fiancÚ.
Because EEJ is like Daddy: he knows how to slut slam DELICATELY.

Spoilers for the week of March 24th
I am going to get my entertainment (like I mentioned in another thread) by refusing to take any of this seriously and become an equal-opportunity snarker. I did that once upon a time, and it is so much less painful. My entertaining pleasure shall take a new direction.

SOD: Trouble for Nicole and Eric
I think I shall return to viewing, but in order to save my hurt and pain, I shall return to my former position as equal-opportunity snarker. There is joy in the snark!

Why not?
Even though it was probably for laughs and/or media stunt, it's so chivalrous.

I don't know of any guy who has offered to spare the woman's shoes by carrying her over muddy grass.
A few years ago at the Emmys (the last time they were in Vegas), Kristian forgot her shoes in LA & Peter offered to carry her down the red carpet. lol.
Y'know, guys just want an excuse to carry her? Can you blame them? :D

Can someone explain 'Fetch'? I'm on the Dannifer hate bandwagon but never got the reference. The only person I like in scenes with Daniel is JJ. Hey could the show acknowledge some of Daniel's stalkerish behavior?
Fetch is a term from the movie "Mean Girls". Essentially it just means Days is trying extremely hard to make Dannifer catch on but it won't because it sucks.

You know, we need a "Daytime Royalty lingo" post pinned. Fetch, Winston, Everett...........All the mashed names....

SOD: Trouble for Nicole and Eric
OK, I have to admit it........I had become a non-general watcher and was in denial. I wanted Ericole. Well, I wanted Nicole to WIN. I've lost the heart to watch. I think it was because (this and the EJabby stuff),that a month or so ago, things were so AWESOME, and now, smack! I had hopes. I had hopes for this show, but now I don't worry about catching up. Poop.

SOD: Nicole seduces Eric
I can love AZ, but I can't defend Nicole. Not on this one. Pisses me off. At this point, I hope someone somewhere offers her an acting deal she can't refuse. They are on the verge of totally blowing a couple that so many people anticipated. And Eric is apparently so out of touch with working with women that he doesn't know that this "sign of" is a way to break someone's heart. Nope. Didn't handle that well at all. As for his treatment of Marlena..........Marlena venting on Nicole instead of using Chyka to find Kristen.....GAH

Everyone looks absolutely stunning in this picture. However (despite how fabulous she really does look), AZ/Nicole looks suspiciously like a housewife on The Secret Storm.
"Secret Storm"? Exactly how old are you? :)
Oh I remember The Secret Storm, Love of Life and Edge of Night. I remember coming home from school just in time to see the credits run from Peyton Place. :D
Shoot, I do, too. I can still remember the announcer's voice. Pretty damn good for an old person. ;)

That fakeout was the best thing in a while on this storyline. Hope this leads somewhere unpredictable. The fake-out was.
Yes, Nicole, that dress was horrible, even on you. You were poured into it.
I think Jordan and Rafe are cute. There, I said it. And I like her glasses. There, I said that, too.
The whole Stefano/Marlena/bug thing went right over my head. Dammit. I just want Nicole to be happy. She can fess up, be an honest person, and be snarky and interesting. Dammit, Powers, make it so!
Ciara.....I think that was covered. No words. Powerful. Poor kiddo. I feel so badly for her.

SOD: EJ learns Abigail might be pregnant
Semantics. I seriously doubt "side chick" has made it into any definitive dictionary. I'll have to check my Roget's.
And, as far as white-washing characters to fit an agenda, don't most ardent fans of various persuasions do that?
I do wish I had copied a great quote I read about Christians trying to convince others that their particular theology was right and everyone else's was wrong, which ends up in cyclical, never ending, dog tail chasing. When I read it, I didn't think of churches...I immediately thought about these "debates."
I'm sure there are side chicks (and side roosters) who win and those who lose. And, after all, it depends on what the pen does. If the writers want Abby to win EJ, they'll have it. If they want EJ to fly the coop with Sami and turn into Everett, they will.
Abby is either a harlot or a misunderstood young girl who was in love. EJ was either a horny toad who wasn't getting any or a sly dog trying to keep her from squealing (well, tattling). It's all open to interpretation, and I sincerely doubt any answer is right. This whole thing is very vague.

The fact is, he is nowhere near old enough to be her father (real age or character age). He looks older than her, but not enough that it looks like he could be her dad.

Ej and Sami are about the same age and Sami has Will who is near Abby's age. I'm about Ejami's age and my stepson is about Abby's age.
Which Sami is older than EJ as well as having Will at like 16 years old. Which I wouldn't bring up Sami in this conversation since she's the one who gets accused of acting like a child (see Hope/Sami).

Insisting the age is a factor when there is a barely a decade between them really doesn't matter since they've banged the hell out of each other all over Salem in some of the most graphic scenes on the show. Plus, it's not like the show is ignoring the only so slight age difference. It's been brought up and I think dealt with. My problem with Chan was they pretended there was no age difference (20+ years) and had SC talking like a surfer while sitting backwards in a chair because that's what all twenty something males do.

I think one factor that is being highlighted in the Sami/Abby art discussion is something I brought up back in December. EJ and Sami really don't have much in common once you take away the children and covering up crimes. Abigail actually graduating from college, being to Europe, and proven to have similar tastes, it's not that unheard of for Ejabby to enjoy being around each other and converse. It's kind of sweet of Sami wanting to (finally) join EJ on some of his interests but unless she develops a real interest in it it's probably not going to be that successful after the first few conversations. And it's not something you try to take on when you're on the doorstep of your wedding. It's something you do during the courtship, but unfortunately Ejami were too busy trying to keep each other out of jail during that time.
You know, my husband is 9 years, almost 10 years, older than I am. We don't know for a fact that there aren't members of this board whose spouses are more than 10 years older than they are, and happily married.
I guess looks are one thing, but the whole way characters act leaves the age thing, to me, a moot point because of the way Sami acts.
Years ago, Missy Reeves looked VERY young for her age when Jack and she first started sparking. Then you have the Doug and Julie age gap, and that blossomed into a real-life romance.
How long were Victor and Nikki a hot couple on the Young and the Restless?
If anything, this story isn't working for me, not because of the age, but just the writing and the way there doesn't seem to be any....I don't know...smooth connections? This could have had so much potential.
