Hunter Tylo's son Michael was remembered Friday by more than 200 family and friends at a Los Angeles memorial. |
"He liked to make me laugh," his actress mother told mourners at the Church of the Hills at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. "He had a beautiful spirit."
Michael Edward Tylo II died Oct. 18 in a drowning accident at the family home in Henderson, Nev., after suffering from an epileptic seizure. He was 19.
"I thank God for giving me those 19 years," said Hunter, who reminisced about her son's struggle with faith, his favorite TV shows and his droll sense of humor.
But The Bold and the Beautiful actress also remembered the sensitive side of her son, who was known as Mickey.
"He could identify people who were wounded and hurt," she said. "There was a young girl in our neighborhood who was crippled and she used to take a walk at the same time each day and Michael would wait outside everyday just to say hi to her."
Michael Tylo Sr., Mickey's father, also spoke at the memorial, and was joined by Mickey's younger sisters, Katya and Izabella, and Mickey's older brother, Christopher, who gave Mickey a tearful farewell at the end of the service.
Close friends also shared their memories, recalling Mickey's "mischievous" side. Michael Sr. talked about their mutual interest in history and Mickey's love of music.
"He had a love for people and cared about his friends," he said of his son, who was interested in studying graphic design. "I'll miss him."
In addition, many of the cast and crew of The Bold and the Beautiful were in attendance, including executive producer Brad Bell and actors Susan Flannery, Jennifer Gareis, Katherine Kelly Lang and John McCook (The set of the soap was shut down for the day). Actor John O'Hurley and his wife also attended.
