Yes, you don't always need something big (you can have some little moments build things up but people complain that is boring nowadays) but considering this is pretty much a mob-like story, it's expected in a way and there is no way Bo would do what he does if Victor isn't hospitalized and Philip's shooting is the right type of thing to push Morgan/Philip and to force John and/or Ava to come clean. I see what your saying but even Ron at OLTL does this. Look at what happened with the Tina thing. We had her initial arrival and then nothing happened with that story until Sarah and Talia ended up with Carlo and now the story will progress again this week with the rescue attempt and Sarah going over the falls. Plot devices are used like this, especially in action/adventure/violent-like stories. Plus, fans said they wanted action and drama since Days had been lacking it for a few months and this fits the bill. I would love to have what Hogan gave us back. I would love to have some spectacular character work and such. It just seems like not as many people want that for Days and all soaps that should want it and the ratings are more reflective of action and events then they are good, solid character moments and the little things that had many fall in love with soaps in the first place. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm glad there is finally some excitement on the show and some clear direction. I hope that Higley is gone soon because I don't think the combination of her and Corday is good for the long haul (hell, what combination is with Corday there) but, until she is gone, I will just hope the show is entertaining and exciting and it looks like it is going to continue to be, at least for me LOL.
