And the whole trust thing? It was gradual. She was resistant to him, then he started working on her about getting her father to get away from John Black, and she'd already kind of warmed up to him by then. Her father disappearing just pushed it a bit over, since he'd been there for her and trying to help her for a while. The kiss was just a vulnerable reaction on her part.

The part where they missed the boat a little would be them having a talk about the kiss. They could've had her say she was just way to emotional and Phil could've been understanding about it. It would've put them back a few paces with a mutual understanding that they're kind of beginning to like each other without just ignoring it. That's pretty much the only thing they missed out on with this storyline. Something major happened between them and I don't recall them talking about it at all.
I disagree about the trust thing, because once she started trusting him (for no particular reason) she never wavered, even though her own father told her (for the second time) right before he went mysteriously missing to stay away from Philip Kiriakis. Why she trusts Philip more than her own father--heck, why she mistrusts John so much more than Philip--has yet to be explained except by the ever-convenient concept of insta-luv.

Furthermore, Phorgan fans weren't the only ones robbed of a proper discussion of Morgan initiating that kiss with Philip. Philip stayed with Chloe when she saw them (he certainly didn't rush off after Morgan), Chloe said her feelings had gone beyond FWB and Philip wanted to talk about that. They left together and the next we saw them they were in bed. I have no idea what they talked about or what conclusion was reached, if any, but for me that was at least as important a discussion as any Philip might have had with Morgan. I don't know whether I'm supposed to assume that Chloe pretended to be ok with FWB or whether she said she was or whether they even talked at all.

I have yet to see Philip have any converation or interaction with Morgan at all about anything that doesn't relate directly or indirectly to her father. They have never been in a situation where he didn't have an ulterior motive. This taking a bullet for her is such a lame way to "prove" he cares for her, which at least thankfully JKJ didn't used the hackneyed "has feelings for"--if I hear one more character reference Sami's undefined "feelings" for EJ as if they de facto had to be love I'm going to break something.

And guilt is surely the rock solid foundation for any lasting relationship.
