Philip is attracted to Morgan, that much as obvious. However, he has been hurt before, so perhaps he is telling himself that he is only interested in her out of guilt, to protect himself from falling for her. That is where the angst comes into play in this storyline and that is why I think if written well ( I know wishful thinking) this love story could be amazing. I think that her confessing her feelings for him is going to be a catalyst in their relationship that is going to cause Philip to examine his own feelings for her. There is alot more going on here then just a guilty conscience.
