And guilt is surely the rock solid foundation for any lasting relationship.

Well your mind can say one thing and your heart another. Philip is attracted to Morgan, that much as obvious. However, he has been hurt before, so perhaps he is telling himself that he is only interested in her out of guilt, to protect himself from falling for her. That is where the angst comes into play in this storyline and that is why I think if written well ( I know wishful thinking) this love story could be amazing.

I think that her confessing her feelings for him is going to be a catalyst in their relationship that is going to cause Philip to examine his own feelings for her. There is alot more going on here then just a guilty conscience.
It isn't obvious to me that Philip is attracted to Morgan. KR is the exception to my rule that JKJ has chemistry with everyone. I don't deny that Philip likes Morgan well enough, but IMO she might as well be his sister for all the heat they generate.

I will never think this could be an amazing love story, not just because of the lack of chemistry but because it makes no sense to me that even if Philip fell in love with Morgan at some point, that she would ever care for him once she knows the truth. She ought to feel personally used, manipulated and humiliated, never mind that the man she thinks she loves callously rejected her father's bid for help after leading him down the path of criminal destruction--regardless of who actually killed him (or made him disappear). As a former EJAmi fan, I'm certainly not unfamiliar with the concept of rationalizing away the guy's behavior, but even in that case there were things I just couldn't handle, specifically EJ tricking Sami into thinking he had poisoned her when she was pregnant. And back then I saw chemistry, which is enough to cover a lot of ills. When you don't see it, as I don't in this pairing--although others do, of course--then the storyline problems loom larger than ever. But Dena doesn't exactly write women who can walk or chew gum without a man.

But one thing we do agree on is that hoping for good writing is wishful thinking! :P
