Why in the hell would Nicole actually go by that name in real life? God, I hate this lame writing. Maybe Trent forced her into marrying him and didn't pay attention to the name she put on the license paperwork and etc? It sounds like an idiotic excuse Higgs and Co would come up with....... Maybe Nicole couldn't use her real name or birth certificate because she was underage? No I'm pretty sure she was of legal age because Trent knew Nicole when she was in college. Maybe she wasn't enrolled under her real name either but when Trent first saw Nicole he didn't call her by her real name so I can't see any reason why she wouldn't use her real name when they got married unless she needed to lie about her age. Maybe the writers can surprise me with an answer. If I remember the conversation correctly, Trent and Nicole said they knew each other back when Trent was getting his Ph.D and EJ said something like, "I didn't know you had a Ph.D" and Nicole said, "Not exactly" and she and Trent acted all shifty.
