Reilly wrote for Gina, an amnesiac woman being held by Stefano in New Orleans, who turned out to be a very much alive Hope. It wasn't until Reilly was gone and Sally Sussman Morina was head writer did Gina turn into a European princess. That's a common misconception in regards to the Gina story. Reilly never intended for Gina to be a princess. That story was created months after Reilly was gone.
