That ruined most of the Shelle chemistry. She looked more like Shawn-D's mom than love interest. I do think that one reason for the abrupt departure were quiet discussions about bringing the "originals" back. When that fell through, oh well, let's just send them off on a worldwide adventure offscreen. At some point, I expect both JC and KS will be back.
