But Shawn and Belle didn't have to be together anymore. Belle had the affair, she was in love with Philip, and it could have been the end of the couple. Beemer, even with his limited acting ability, had charisma, and could certainly have created a spark with a new actress. And Martha could have continued to take Belle in a new direction. To me, there is nothing more interesting than a self-professed good girl, who is in denial about her own bad behavior. Oh well, I'm not writing the show
