I like her attitude.

I don't know if I agree with you brimike. I'd say Y&R is probably the best written show right now, and they are going to be in trouble in a two years or so. A lot of people think OLTL is the best show on the air, and that show is going to be in trouble soon too. It's just an inevitable decline. I agree the economy might not really be to blame. TV moves in cycles and eras. I just think the soap era is coming to an end. There was a time when no one thought TV could do without Westerns.
Do you think the era is ending partly because of people's changing schedules, a lack of romanticism, too much of soap's "been there, done that" or the issue of reality TV feeding the voyeurism in all of us? I should have prefaced this by saying I see your point, and it's a good one! Oh, and another one...with more and more cable shows on, there's more viewing competition, even if one does record. I often wonder how the ratings would differ if there was a way to record DVRs besides TiVo.
