In my opinion, all of the above factors have affected the soaps. Poor writing is a factor, but the world of a woman has changed, no doubt. It all has affected the popularity of soaps. Soaps are not what they once were. Too many other viewing opportunities has lead to writers and producers changing every week it seems. There is no continuity, and the people writing for the shows are not aware of histories, that people like us never forget. It has affected the quality of all soap operas. Soaps are terrible today. |
