Whoa, you're so right. The only time I find them remotely interesting is when Melanie's in the room. She has more sparks with Phil and Stephanie than they have with each other.

The chemistry I see between the two is a great friendship chemistry that they're going to step all over and ruin it by sleeping together. But that's just me. I see I'm in the minority, as usual. It's just too run of the mill for my tastes. I don't hate it like I hate mint chocolate chip but I don't love it like I love Death by Chocolate, either. It's more like plain old vanilla.
For what it's worth, I agree with you. It's a very generic and uninteresting love story, which I could live with if they had smoking hot chemistry, but they don't. To me, anyway. My husband summed it up for me when he was in the room with me when I was watching Philip put the brakes on, and he asked me who they were married to. I said nobody. So he asked who they were engaged to, and I said nobody. So, looking more confused, he said, well then, are they related? I said no. His final ditch effort was to ask if she was under 18, and I said no, so, exasperated, he said, well then, what's the problem? And that's how I feel about it. There's no reason for them not to be together, so I'm not interested that they're not, or that they are--it just doesn't make any difference. Not to mention that everything is about Melanie's reaction, not them.
Like you say, I don't hate them. I'm merely very, very, very bored by them.
No way. Not this soon.
