He forgives Chloe because it makes him look like a good guy since he started drinking? Going back to a woman who led you to drink in the first place probably isn't the way to make you look like a good guy. Just a really dumb guy. She was sleeping with her doctor while engaged to you! Dumbass! At least it is nice to hear he had suspicion.
