Much prefers sweevil, snarky EJ over Father Figure Fucktard Eejiot.
Actually, the plain truth is neither you or I or any of the rest of us on here are writing the show so making absolute statements about what will or won't happen still doesn't make it so.
If there is one thing I've learned over the years is that nothing is guaranteed. Just because a character has been written in a particular way in the past doesn't mean it will continue - particularly when you are talking about completely different writing teams. It's a sometimes irritating aspect of watching Soaps - how many of us have complained about actions or storylines being out of character? I personally don't think Sami has been writtin 'in character', or at least what I perceive to be her character, for quite a while. I prefer Sami to be more feisty and even downright cut throat than the version we currently see - it was much more fun.
People will react to articles/spoilers/speculations based on how they feel about certain characters or storylines. That's just human nature. You just did it yourself. So what? I like GG well enough. I never watched Passions so I didn't have a preconceived notion of him. I also didn't watch AMC so I had no opinion of JS before he joined DAYS. I now believe strongly that the chemistry that exists between AS and JS far exceeds any chemistry I've seen either of them have with other actors. It's off the chart. So I want to see my favorite pairing finally wind up together and have been talking about it, campaigning for it and generally making as much noise about it as I possibly can for nearly three years. Me and a whole bunch of other folks of like mind. I'm sure the Safe/Rafe fans will do the same, just as the Lumis have and the Jarlenas, Jates, Bopes and Paylas have and still do. But even with all of that we're all still at the mercy of the writer's pen.
