Then the writers created Victoria, Marley's long-lost identical twin, who was as tough and streetwise as her sister was soft and refined. The dual dream role showcased Wheeler's considerable acting skills and explored the range and depth of her talent as she successfully developed two unique, separate individuals. It was far more than contrasting hair and dress styles. These characters sat, moved, listened, talked, almost breathed differently, bespeaking their widely divergent upbringings. Ellen even altered the timbre of her voice: Marley's tone was high and reedy, while Victoria's was low and throaty. It was (and continues to be) a performance to be applauded.
