Even though we know this never really happened (since all of last season turned out to be a dream), this story line turned out to be one big cop-out. The show's writers went to great lengths to show us the anger and frustration that couples go through upon learning their baby will be born with Down's syndrome. Instead of carrying this out, and showing the difficulties of raising a handicapped child, it was dropped. Why, then, initiate the story in the first place?
