She falls down before the car is near her. Was she hit, or did she just faint? Skye is allegedly struck by lightning, but the camera does not pan to the sky. Skye just falls. Is she swooning, or was she hit? Nina crashes her car. She swerves to the right and the camera swerves to the left. Really convincing. ALL MY CHILDREN has been justifiably praised over the years for its pioneering social stories. But when it comes to action sequences, they are amateurs. We know that soap operas don't have the luxury of sound stages or cameras equipped with cranes. But arranging any kind of action or special effect seems beyond AMC. There's no point writing scenes into a script that you can't stage.
