Grey's is a soap set in a hospital. It's not supposed to be primarily about medical cases and whatnot, anymore than General Hospital is.
Yeah but they have always tried to sell it as a medical show and that is my issue with it. They try to do actual cases but they bungle them. I think they should keep it simple and do what shows like GH and PC do and avoid even bothering too much with the cases unless they have to. Otherwise, all they do is embarrass themselves IMO pretty regularly.
