There's obviously backstage politics in soaps, just like there is in pro wrestling. And since pro wrestling is considered soap opera for men, I guess it just fits this thread LOL.|
From an outside perspective, backstage politics are intriguing because of our curious nature, as we all wanna know the dish about certain things. It's a whole different thing when you're actually part of it. You wanna give somebody a big opportunity to shine because you believe in this person but someone in a more powerful position will decide otherwise and throw away your idea. It doesn't only affect the person involved but also the writer as well because you feel frustrated that your input isn't taken into consideration. That's why I left the wrestling business a couple of years ago. That didn't affect my passion and love for it but I came out less enthusiastic and more realistic about how it works.
So, to me, the 2nd option of Bryan Dattilo being promised a big story and in the end, not getting it, makes perfect sense to me because I actually know from experience that this can happen. We will probably never know the truth because only Ken Corday knows the actual truth. In any event, good luck to him in the immediate future.
