Everything I've heard suggests that the option to renew Days through September 2011 is pretty much a certainty to get picked up. However, I have heard there has been discussion concerning NBC keeping Days beyond that but Days would have to continue to keep their budget in check and ratings and demos would have to continue to be above a certain point (2.0 in HH and 2nd/3rd place in demos at the very least). NBC just wants to continue to make a profit off of it. Believe it or not, the whole Days book deal may play a huge role because that is another stream of revenue for Days and that can only help the budget. NBC is very happy with it right now, though. It gets a heavy amount of viewing online too and NBC has enough other issues to worry about. They have no interest in messing with daytime too much and if a profit is being made, then they are pleased.

Another rumor I've heard off and on the past few years is that Corday is just trying to get Days to 50 years on the air and then call it quits but I would take that one with a grain of salt at this point because this is Corday we're talking about.
