After doing some calculations, based on the longevity of the shows, I can see that Procter & Gamble, alone, has sponsored roughly 240 - 250 YEARS of soaps, just on TV, alone (not counting GL's radio years) and it is a crying shame that all of it will end for P&G on September 17, 2010. I, for one, am truly heartbroken. The P&G sponsored shows were, Another World, As the World Turns, The Brighter Day, The Catlins, The Edge of Night, The First Hundred Years, From These Roots, Guiding Light, Lovers & Friends/For Richer, For Poorer, Search for Tomorrow, Texas and Young Doctor Malone.
