But the early 70's belonged to Susan played by Denise Alexander who was the darling of the show and fave of the fans for many years." Thank you for posting this. I remember that Denise Alexander was very popular because Susan Martin was supposed to be the "good girl" while Julie was the "bad girl." I always rooted for Julie though! The rivalry between Susan & Julie was what first got me hooked on Days. I adored Susan Seaforth. I was a young girl and so wanted to be like her! Susan S. may not have been at the top of the polls but she received 4 Emmy nominations for best lead actress in the 70s. Denise Alexander was very good too. I was sorry to see her leave Days.
