I don't know if I'm going to be able to understand what's going on. :(
Well, just incase you decide to start watching, here's the premise of the show:
Quote:

A company in Japan has created a synthetic blood beverage (Tru Blood) that vampires can drink, allowing them to survive without killing humans for their blood. As a result, vampires have "come out of the coffin" and become part of society. The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic barmaid living in a small Louisiana town who can read people's minds, and her life is turned upside down when a vampire walks into her place of employment two years after vampires "came out of the coffin" on national television. When a couple of local thugs kidnap Vampire Bill and attempt to drain him of his blood (vampire blood, aka 'V,' is like a drug when ingested by humans), Sookie comes to his rescue and her life is forever changed.

It's basically a supernatural free-for-all. Vampires, werewolves, witches, maenads, the list goes on.

The first season follows Bill and Sookie's courtship and it features a dramatic murder mystery/serial killer story in which "fang bangers" (women who have sex with vampires) turn up dead in nearly every episode and Sookie appears to be the killer's main target.

The second season introduces the "Fellowship of the Sun," an anti-vampire religious cult that brainwashes Sookie's brother and all kinds of crazy shit happens when they kidnap one of the world's oldest vampires and try to kill him. It also introduces Maryann, a trouble-making maenad, who takes over the town and turns everyone into a bunch of zombie-eyed freaks.

The third season deals alot with vampire politics (on this show, there are kings and queens, area "sheriffs," etc.) and it also introduces the werewolves. We also find out what Sookie is and why she's able to hear people's thoughts.

The fourth season, which premieres July 26th, will introduce us to the witches. :)
