This wasn't that long ago, and yet the show's production values are better, pre-HD. (Excluding the superimposed crap ending that former EP used to do.) I agree. The show today doesn't just look cheaper because of the budget cuts, but also because of the switch to HD. The sets look so much more fake in HD.
