There's nothing I hate more than stories that zig-zag in every direction because the writers are making it up as they go along. It's so much easier to invest in a story when you know there's a plan in place and a payoff forthcoming. remember the days of long drawn out buildups with amazing pay offs? Yes. It's really sad to see what's happened to this show over the years.
