Sami spent years chasing after a man who was in love with her sister. That didn't seem to stop her from wanting him. And, according to many people, that was the Real Sami. So, I would think that Rafe's little attraction to Carrie would have only spurred Sami on. Of course it would. A man falling in love with her sister is an aphrodisiac to Sami - better than oysters. If Rafe wanted Sami's re-commitment post griefsex, he played that one perfectly.
