Doris, in the very beginning when Sharon was telling her about Nick, said, "don't go after that boy because of his money". Someone else posted about that right on this board awhile back, so I'm not the only one, sorry if you missed that part but it happened. Nikki spotted her as a goldigger, "back then". You can believe whatever you want to believe, it won't change the script.
