It's fine because sooner or later Rafe will be chastising Will for knocking up Gabi and Ej will likely be proving he hasn't changed much and Lucas will be the only one around that can actually lend some support for Will. This show is nothing but predictable....remember one thing 6 months ago Will was hating on his mother to the point of calling her a bitch, shoving her around and all.....he was virtually Ej's puppy dog following him around and now he's neither.....yeah....Will is a character that has suffered at the hands of both sets of writers....it's okay though.....I'm sure it's not the last time he'll change his tune......he's as flip floppy as Ej is.
