He's angry that Nicole kept up a lie that kept him from seeing the sonogram of his son, telling Johnny and Sydney that they were going to have a little baby brother, etc. I would not say EJ is a cold-hearted fellow, but someone who is full of anguish, but happy in the sense that he was proven right.
