I have heard Ej mention obsession with Sami lately,but not loving her with his whole heart and soul. The only person Ej loves like that is Ej. EJ told Sami very recently that he loves her, always has loved her and always will love her. With that said, EJ will always love himself more than anyone else, just like Sami does. The obsession remark, IMO, was sarcasm directed at Kristen's obsession with John.
