Craig was created by JER in 1997 but he was just a short-term character, I think for three episodes or something when Mike and Carrie went to LA for a medical conference to look for a cure for Roman. But it was SSM who brought Craig to Salem in 1998 to compete with Mike for the chief of staff position, and a couple of months later Nancy came on. At first it seemed like they were going for a story where Craig only married Nancy because of her father's money but the writers probably dropped it when they realized fans liked Craig and Nancy as a couple. |
