But since they're unlikely to bring another gay character on in the near future, they're setting Gabi up to be the "third wheel" for Wilson to provide emotional angst and keep the couple apart. Throw in Nick, who is antagonistic to Wilson, and you've got a strange sort of emotional quadrangle -- which is another geometric shape these writers like.
