No, Nick didn't vaguely reference the Bible. We have no idea where he gets his views from. I'll wait for the writers to clarify this. (They probably wont though)

Again, Eric can still love Will and not approve of his lifestyle. The two things are not mutually exclusive.
Of course -- just like Lucas loves Will, and Nick has claimed that he loves Will. I never disputed that; I simply said that not approving is a form of homophobia. Love is [should be] unconditional. "I love you in spite of the fact that you're gay" isn't.

I can believe that Eric loves Will, but doesn't approve of the fact that Will is gay. I'm sure that many people in real life feel the same way about someone that they know. That doesn't change the fact that conditional statements like that are hurtful to a gay person. There are different types of homophobia -- in fact, there's a whole scale in psychology that is based on the various degrees of homophobia (the Riddle Scale). Some aren't as blatantly malicious as "gay-bashing", but they're still hurtful in their own ways.

Anyway, I realize that this is a sensitive subject, so I'll just leave it at that. Hopefully, my comments expressed my opinion without being inflammatory. As for the origin of Nick's views, since that's delving into what is arguably an even more sensitive subject, I'll refrain from commenting further on that part.
