Adam is a douchebag. Chelsea & Sharon's storyline revolves around him. Plain and simple. Adam being the 'prize' bothers me too but when it comes down to Chelsea vs Sharon and their two personalities, I am rooting for Sharon.. especially under the circumstances with her illness etc.
