IMO, not only is Will the only one who has shown genuine concern for the baby's well-being, he's also the only sympathetic character in the ordeal. Gabi still doesn't seem like she truly wants the baby -- she just wants Nick -- and Nick just wants to control Gabi and keep the baby away from its gay father. (I realize that Nick hasn't necessarily expressed that last motivation on-screen, but that's how I'm interpreting it based on what we know about Nick's beliefs.) That's just my opinion, though, obviously.
