IMO, not only is Will the only one who has shown genuine concern for the baby's well-being, he's also the only sympathetic character in the ordeal. Gabi still doesn't seem like she truly wants the baby -- she just wants Nick -- and Nick just wants to control Gabi and keep the baby away from its gay father. (I realize that Nick hasn't necessarily expressed that last motivation on-screen, but that's how I'm interpreting it based on what we know about Nick's beliefs.) That's just my opinion, though, obviously. I don't disagree, for the most part. I do think Gabi has shown more desire for the baby than you, but that's a minor point. As for Nick, if part of his motivation is to keep the baby from his gay father, then he is motivated by what he believes is best for the baby. We can disagree with the correctness of that motivation, but he's still motivated by his concern for the kid.
