I could see her getting spooked by them and slapping John and flashing back to what she THINKS is a dream but we never really know if its a dream or a memory. She could always feel awkward around them, but it should end there. I don't like the "Is there something going on here?" I mean what are we supposed to believe that Sam and John are Caleb and Livvie..
