This is what's called a defining character trait. Well-drawn characters have them. TomSell don't seem to like characters about whom we can say "he/she would never..." They would rather have shallow, cardboard versions that they can mix and match and plop down into whatever plot they're pushing.

Thus, we've seen formerly well-drawn characters (e.g., Jennifer) get dragged down, dumbed down, hollowed out, and distorted beyond all recognition to be able to be a part of any major current storyline. Frankly, I wouldn't wish that on any of the characters I like. And the ones I don't care for are precisely the ones who were established with few if any defining character traits (pretty much any of the ones created in the last few years).
