I see no other reason for Sonny and EJ scenes. I'm not convinced of that since EJ hired a custody lawyer who would presumably be the point person during the custody battle. It could very well happen, I'm just not certain it will. I think it is just as likely that Nick kidnaps or harms Will so EJ and Sonny work to locate Will or discover what happened to him.
