Dan was actually making sense. Dan is a grown man and he should be able to make decisions without involving Jennifer or Maggie. He should make that clear to them. EJ, putting him in a cuddly romance is going to give you the same issues as what happened to Victor when he got together with Maggie. Either those relationships need to have eternal tension or both characters need to revel in the edgier/darker end of the spectrum. Or they need to do the Jack thing and commit to character evolution (but I would rather Victor stay a villain, and I just can't buy Victor/Maggie for that reason, and I think a lot of his fans would prefer EJ stay edgy too, maybe grey but a darker shade of grey than Jack was with Jennifer. Which makes sense given that Jack was once a white hat good guy while EJ appeared on the show as a wolf in sheep's clothing. Frankly I also don't think James Scott can pull off deeper emotions so keeping him a sly smooth villain whose accent and pressed suits give him instant charm works better for me).
